3 reasons how IG Lives can ramp up your revenue

First of all, let’s address the elephant in the room when we talk about IG lives, shall we?

Does anyone reading this blog NOT say something along the lines of ‘just popping on’ or ‘just jumping on stories’ before they talk…

 (Asking for a friend!)

Over the last few months, we’ve been LOVING showing up on IG Lives at Social Cactus HQ especially celebrating our 4th birthday bonanza that happened in October!

(Did you miss it? Here’s the first part of the celebrations that you can check out here).

And we’ll be honest…

Before our birthday bonanza, we actually haven’t shown up live for a long time with other things being a priority and not really having the time or inclination to just go live.

But what we realised from our birthday celebrations is that going live is like no other form of marketing.

It’s real, raw and authentic.

When you’re live, there’s no place to hide, you have to be your authentic self, be vulnerable and accept that it may not be perfect.

Plus, from our experience, lives don’t just increase your engagement and reach but ramp up your revenue too meaning it gives your bank balance a boost as well as your business!

(Freaking out at the thought of going live? Don’t sweat, we’ve given you some journal prompts to use in our IG post all about lives here to help you see the bigger picture!)

3 reasons going live is good for business:

1. It allows an opportunity for your community to get to know you.

As mentioned earlier, a live is a great way for your audience to get to know the real you, warts and all! You can’t hide when you go live so people get to know you for you, check in with your energy, fall in love with your personality and become a loyal fan forever!

If you’re not sure what to do when you go live, why don’t you start with a simple Q&A session to get you started?

2. New people can meet you and get to know you.

Time zones, commitments and leading busy lives is the bane of trying to run a Social Media account

If you post at the same time every day and go on stories sporadically, there could be people in your community who have honestly never even heard of you.

Going live is a great way to connect with those people especially as there’s something about being live which makes you feel connected - like when Adele went live and the whole world went crazy because it felt like you were actually in her living room with her!

THAT’S the vibe we’re talking about.

Are you worried that nobody will tune in to watch and you’ll be left talking to yourself and a random user called Gerald? Use the countdown function so your community can join and be reminded and make sure you regularly update them of when the live is so they don’t forget!

3. Increases brand awareness and familiarity.

This follows nicely from the point above.

When you go live especially on IG, your name pops up at the top of the page so everyone on Instagram at that time gets to see you. Keep going live consistently and that name becomes more and more familiar equalling increased brand awareness without even having to really do anything.
